The steamer served lakes in Kandota Township, Minnesota, during the late 19th century. In this scene, the Kandotta is seen on the Mississippi River passing through Lansing, Iowa. Lansing, Iowa is about 160 miles south of the Twin Cities on a gorgeous and dramatic stretch of the upper Mississippi River.
