Transitional Chippendale Carved Lowboy

This rare form with carved C-scroll legs and well-executed carved ball and claw feet is embellished with a carved concave fan which conforms to the carved skirt board. The top is constructed from an impressive figured board of cherry with a thumb-molded edge. Some of the features relate to the work of Brewster Dayton (active: 1762-1796) and Ebenezer Hubbell (1726-1812), influenced by the Anglo-Dutch work of Long Island.
