Lined, very minor scattered in-painting. In a period, if not original frame.
This painting by Thomas Chambers exemplifies his work and attributes using bold colors, a luminous sky and the contrasting effects of light and shadows. The foreground with fanciful trees and shoreline lead us into the elongated view of the river which was typical of Chambers’ style of painting.
