Still Life of Fruit and Objects Arranged on a Tabletop
SOLD
Artist unidentified, ca. 1840-1860.
Probably Mid-western, possibly Ohio.
Oil on canvas
24 3/4″ x 35 1/4″
Painted in a folky manner, the artist had little sense of perspective as he painted the tabletop still life in a room setting. The wonderful flat linear lines along with a soft palette of colors makes this still life desirable among folk art collectors. The inscription, Ohio on one of the bottles perhaps helps us identify the origin of this painting.
Condition: Lined, very minor scattered in-painting, in a custom frame.
Item ID: WoA-AMP-OC 428
