This carved figure of a Maiden is part of a group of figures from the abandoned tableaux dens of the Ringling Bros., Barnum and Bailey Circus. The figures are known to have been commissioned to be made by Samuel Robb for a wagon side or “cage wagon” which Ringling Bros. used in parades during the late 19th century.
