Rooster Weathervane

Rooster Weathervane,

probably New York or New England, ca. 1880-90. Molded copper with polychrome paint. The paint decoration, highlighting the comb, beak, wattle and feet, appears to be original. The untouched nature of the piece is the most desirable feature. The form of the rooster’s head with the tall comb, coupled with the yellow-painted surface, are also visually appealing.
