Rooster and Arrow Weathervane

Full body and molded sheet copper, cast zinc arrow head and spurred feet
Condition: Overall in a wonderful state of preservation, retaining an exceptional oxidized surface with portions of original sizing paint and gilt. Minor losses to ends of arrow feathers, creases to comb.
Provenance: Robert S. Walin Antiques, Woodbury, Connecticut; Private Collection, Cornwall, Connecticut.
This rather rare model of a large rooster perched on a sphere and arrow has both a well-defined cast arrow head and cast zinc spurred feet, which are details found on the earlier examples.
