Woven wool, tassel thread, rope, in a carved gilt frame.
The rare shield-shaped form depicts 12 flags around a circular vignette with a sailboat, below a winged angle holding American flags all surrounded by roping. Overall in excellent condition with original frame and black mat. Provenance: Kendal Chew and John Formicola, Philadelphia. From the estate of Richard P. Mellon, Ligonier, PA.
