Rare Pair of Federal Andirons with Matching Tools

This exceptional pair of left and right andirons would have adorned the most formal homes of the Federal period. The steeple-top form is repeated on the log stops and supported by spur feet. The fire place tools comprised of shove and tongs are identical to the form of the ball and steeple–top turnings on the andirons.
