Rare Over-Sized Milk Pan
SOLD
Probably French, early-mid-19th c.
Blown glass, aqua-marine color.
Excellent condition, customary wear to the base.
Commonly mistaken for American milk pans, this rare large scale example has a folded rim, pouring spout, and a polished pontil, and most likely was made in France.
Most of the early French glass blowers who came to America had a strong influence in the industry. Distinguishing between the origins of more utilitarian glass wares of the period can be difficult.
