Rare Miniature Classical Cupboard

American, possibly New York, ca. 1840-1850
Mahogany, mahogany veneer, eastern white pine
Over-all in excellent condition, minor scattered repairs to veneer, otherwise all original.
Provenance: Collection of Flora Bush Jansing, first cousin of George H. W. Bush.
A rare and fine example of a miniature cupboard having a stepped-back top with glazed-panel doors fitted with a shelf above a serpentine front waist with paneled doors below, flanked by canted corners with carved motifs resting on a serpentine-front platform base.
