Rare Meat Market Trade Sign

American, last quarter of the 19th century.
Carved poplar, painted surface, steer horns.
Over-all in excellent condition with original paint and varnish, minor repairs to one ear.

In a rare, imposing size, this meat market trade sign has survived in remarkable condition. The verbal history from the previous owner states that the sign hung in a meat market in St. Louis, Missouri.
