Gilt wood, gesso, looking glass, eastern pine backboard.
Condition: Exceptional untouched original condition, to include gilt, tablet, backboards and looking glass.
In the finest state of preservation, this rare and possibly unique double column mirror is fitted with one of the greatest eglomise tablets depicting ships off the shore-line with a house and trees. The gilt-wood and gesso mirror is further embellished with carving on the top molding and above the columns. The gilt surface is highlighted with square boxes on the blocks below the columns. A superior example of a Federal mirror.
