Rare Federal Marble Top Serving Table

Probably North Shore of Massachusetts or New Hampshire, ca. 1800-1815.
Mahogany, crotch-mahogany veneer, flame-birch panels and banding, marble top.
Condition: Over-all in great condition, original marble top, replaced brass, minor imperfections, retains an old varnish finish.

This is a rare and desirable form for a serving table exhibiting wonderful proportions with striking book matched mahogany veneers complimented with flame-birch panels surrounded by pattern. Inlay and supported by finely carved, turned legs ending on brass casters.
