This rare and unusual candlestand exhibits many fine features. The shaped top has an exceptional piece of figured mahogany veneer surrounded by mahogany veneer banding supported by a block above three turned columns. The tripod base is embellished with acanthus-carved knees and carved molded legs terminating on hairy paw brass casters. This table is exceptional for the quality of the cabinetry, the rarity of form and design, and the selection of wood.
