Rare Dome Top Candle Lantern


Probably Connecticut, ca. 1790-1810.
Cherry, glass doors and mirrored back.
Great condition with faded varnish finish.
This unusual counter-top candle lantern reflected light with its mirrored back, accessible with front and side tomb-stone form glazed panel doors with incised lines. The dome top is fitted with a heat escape hole.
Provenance: John Walton label on bottom, purchased Sept. 15, 1957
