Rare Diminutive Queen Anne Flat Top Highboy

Condition: Excellent, virtually untouched, original brass.
Provenance: C.L. Prickett antiques, 1988, Private Collection.
This rare small scale, well-proportioned diminutive Queen Anne highboy exhibits wonderful distinct Connecticut features. The upper case is fitted with a cove-molded cornice above a well-defined, fully carved pin-wheel drawer flanked by two smaller drawers above four graduated drawers all with thumb-nail molded drawer lips. The lower case has an attached waist molding with one long drawer above three drawers, the center with a carved, lobed fan. The skirt is carved with a shaped scalloped edge with a cupid’s bow motif in the center and repeated on the sides. The entire case is supported by wonderful cabriole legs with high-peaked knees and scrolled returns ending on truncated pad feet.
