Rare Diminutive Inlaid Chippendale Blanket Chest
American, probably Mid-Atlantic Region.
Ca. 1790-1810.
Cherry case, maple and burl wood inlay, poplar till.
Over-all in fine condition, till pins broken (lid loose), minor imperfections commensurate to age and use.

In a desirable child’s size, this blanket chest has an inlaid banded molding on the lid above a front panel adorned with inset burl banding with heart motifs and a star, supported by a dovetailed bracket base with large spurs on the skirt.
