Fine condition with original looking glass, old varnish finish.
This patriotic themed, carved mirror depicts a spread-wing eagle perched on foliage with acorns above a looking glass fitted with a black painted liner. The lower section is carved with a shield and three stars flanked by drapery swags and tassels. This rare mirror exhibits wonderful proportions and with finely executed detailed carving.
Provenance: Private Collection, Massachusetts. Purchased at Skinner Auctions, late 1990’s.
