Queen Anne Veneered Dressing Table
New England, possibly Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Over-all in great condition, minor imperfections to small areas of veneer, period etched brasses (not original).
This Anglo inspired and trained cabinet-maker working in America has used native wood (white pine) and walnut to construct this diminutive, well-proportioned dressing table in the English manner. The over-hanging top has four crotch-walnut veneers surrounded by herringbone inlay and banding, the same treatment is used for the drawer faces. The case is supported by cabriole legs with carved knees ending on pad feet.
