Queen Anne One-Drawer Tavern Table
Pennsylvania, ca. 1730-1750
Yellow pine top and drawer face, maple legs and stretchers
Condition: Original feet with full height, replaced brass, minor repairs.
Provenance: Private collection since 1950’s. Cornwall, Connecticut.
The size and presence of the piece are fairly indicative to its origin. The cleeted top, which is removable, rests above a deep central drawer. The turned legs and the block-and-turned stretchers are found on earlier examples of Queen Anne tavern tables.
