Queen Anne Corner Chair
New England, probably Massachusetts
Maple, rush seat
Condition: Early repair to one arm, rush on slip-seat (early 20thc.) otherwise in fine condition.
A wonderful example of a “high country” corner chair having a shaped bow crest above vasiform pierced splats and a slip rush seat supported by block and turned legs with turned stretchers and the front foot terminating on a carved Spanish foot. Another pleasing feature is the cupid’s bow shaped apron around the seat frame.
