Briarcliff Manor is located in Westchester County, New York, on the Hudson river. Walter William Law purchased the land in the 1890’s and developed it creating villages, schools, churches, and parks. It was incorporated in 1902. Briarcliff Manor was historically known for its wealthy estate-owning families, including the Vanderbilts, Astors and Rockefellers.
It is presumed these imposing-size tennis racquets with insignia, “BRIARCLIFF” adorned a wall at one of the recreation centers or at the Lodge.
