Painted Six-Board Blanket Chest

New England, ca. 1800-1815.

Pine, paint decorated

Condition: Original paint decoration, missing interior till, minor imperfections.

The chest having a molded lift-top above boot-jack ends is embellished with a wonderful shaped, valenced front skirt and is supported by cutout bracket feet. The mustard yellow and brown putty sponge decorated surface is in excellent condition.
