Michael Kelly had a long and illustrious career as an artist. After graduation from Pratt Institute of Fine and Applied Arts, he studied and mentored with Louis Comfort Tiffany while living at his foundation in Long Island. Tiffany urged Kelly to study nature in all its forms, colors and shapes to better understand the mystery of design. Kelly left for Europe in 1921 visiting museums, galleries, art exhibits and architecture which influenced his work going forward.
