Late Federal Mirror

American, probably New York, ca. 1820-1840
Carved gilt wood and gesso on eastern white pine, mirror plates
Condition: Overall in excellent condition, appears to have replaced backboards and glass. Original gilt with very minor losses, minor imperfections.

This three stage over-mantle mirror with a molded cornice above a Neoclassical design of drapery swags flanked by rosettes above fluted pilasters columns with Corinthian capitals is in a desirable, well-proportioned size.
