Condition: great condition, retains an old gilt surface
Provenance: From a Norwalk, Connecticut collection; Marna Anderson, New York, 1984.
This is a classic example, known for its sculptural form and beauty. J. Howard and Company were among the first manufacturers of weathervanes and are best identified for their use of well-defined cast zinc front portions on their weathervanes.
