Mahogany, oak stretcher for tapestry
Fine condition, virtually no restoration to the base, tapestry is worn through in places, patch in the center (“canty”) of a later date, top finial replaced, carved frame appears to be original, dry old surface. The base is extremely well carved and executed, exhibiting a turned shaft with fluting and acanthus leaf carving above c-scrolled cabriole legs with foliage carving ending on carved ball and claw feet.
