George Aldrich was known for his richly painted Impressionist landscapes and his ability to paint reflections of water and ice as seen here in this 
example. Aldrich received formal training in Paris and throughout Europe before returning to New York and becoming a member of the Art’s Student League. In 1918 he settled in Chicago and became a prominent member of the South Bend art scene during the 1920’s.
