Carved Basalt Pipe with original stem

American, mid-19th century, possibly earlier.
Provenance: Found in the attic of a Providence, Rhode Island home.
The pipe displays great use and depicts a man with long hair, beard, and bowler, perhaps a sailor or Providence merchant.
