Eagle Weathervane

American, ca. 19th century.
Full-bodied molded copper, sheet copper, cast zinc eagle and arrow head.
Over-all in excellent condition, showing patination from exposure commensurate with outdoor use.

This finely detailed eagle body mounted atop a sphere and arrow has survived in a remarkable state of preservation. The majority of the original gilding is intact, with areas of patination from its history of outdoor exposure.
