Diminutive Federal Convex Mirror

Great condition, minor restoration to some areas of gilt, original glass and backboard.
This rare and unusual diminutive size convex mirror has a carved serpent-horse surmounted on a plinth flanked by carved dolphins above a convex mirror. The rounded framed is highlighted with carved gesso depicting grapes, vines and foliage, a detail not commonly seen.
