This rare Rococo-style wing chair is embellished with carved blind fretwork decoration on the legs and stretcher. The compact form has a well-defined serpentine crest rail and wings with scrolled armrests joined by a trapezoid seat frame supported by Marlborough legs with carved stretchers ending on molded block feet. The chair most likely accommodated a chamber-pot due to the construction of the interior seat frame.
