Still Life of Fruit
Signed (l.l.): C. Sullivan
Oil on canvas
33 1/4″ x 38 3/4″ framed
This charming still life of fruit is painted by the itinerant artist Charles Sullivan. Originally from Frankford, Pennsylvania, a town not far from Philadelphia, Sullivan is thought to have attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and studied under Thomas Sully. Clearly this painting also reflects the influence of another renowned Philadelphia painter, Raphaelle Peale.
