Original paint, one minor repair to one ear (original).
Provenance: Mayer Collection, New York.
A wonderful whimsical deer head with an elongated neck and refined face mounted with three-point antlers, perhaps a trophy carved by the hunter. A fabulous piece of American folk art with an exceptional surface.
