Influenced by Barbizon painters in Europe and painting among some of the most notable Hudson River School artists, Benjamin Champney was exposed to great talent. He is best known for his landscape paintings. His attention to detail and contrasting use of light, are his most notable features, as seen here in Rowing Past the Old Oak.
