New Haven, Connecticut
Ca. 1900-1920
Reverse painting on glass, walnut frame
The sign is a reverse painting on glass and features an extensive use of silver and gold foil gilding to high lite the lettering and a great aerial view of the factory.  The factory scene and adjacent neighborhood is complete with trolley car, and a company owned freight train. The painted sign provides a great snapshot picture of turn of the century Fairhaven district of New Haven.
