Acoma Pueblo is comprised of four communities located west of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The artisans from each Pueblo collected certain clays from their land and are best known for creating pottery with thin walls and often decorated geometric designs, some with birds (parrots), rainbows, and mimbres figures. This pot with a ruffled rim, decorated with stylized birds and geometric designs is an exceptional example of Acoma pottery.
