Over-all in fine condition, occasional craquelure and minor areas of in-painting within the perimeter, mounted on original stretcher with later wedges. Small patch repair verso.
Former attributed to John Booth Higginson, this still life depicting a cat and mouse on a table top with cheese, bread, ham, and a jug was most likely inspired by the work of George Smtih of Chichester, a notable 18th century British naïve artist.
