English, ca. 1765-1780.  A rare diminutive size and form.  The three stage mirror has scrolled ears with a pierced crest and carved phoenix and the sides are flanked with carved and gilt foliage.  Mahogany veneer; pine, secondary.  Fine condition, some repairs to scrolled ears and returns.  The glass and backboards appear to be original, old repairs to gesso on the carved foliage, retains an old refinished surface.
