Most likely influenced by Severin Roesen (1815-1872)

this painting by Elliott has a more folky manner to it. The arrangement of the fruit on tiered ledges, the flowing tendrils in the background and the glass of water magnifying the lemon peel are attributes which are commonly seen in Roesen’s work.
