Pine, paint decorated, iron hinges.
Condition: Minor imperfections such as abrasions with very minor in-painting. The blanket chest has survived in a remarkable state of preservation, with the original paint decoration.
Provenance: Private Collection, Massachusetts

The molded lift top opens to a well fitted interior with a till, all on a molded bracket base. The original painted decoration on a blue ground includes a central urn of roses flanked by the letters, C.C. and bordered by a meandering budded vine flower at each corner.
