Sculpture of a Woman
Sculpture of a Woman Kneeling, American, probably New York ca. 1930.
Excellent condition with a soft patina. Displayed on a contemporary base.
The juxtaposition of the figure kneeling with her head tucked behind her leg is carved in an abstract manner. Note the curvilinear lines of the form against the hard-edge lines of the carving. Original photos of the sculpture are included. They appear to be taken in the late 20’s or early 30’s by Hutchenson Studios in Sharon, Connecticut.
